Produced by Skruf Snus AB, Skruf Slim Myntablad White is a recent addition (alongside Skruf Slim Ralakrits) to the highly popular Skruf line of snus. I consider Myntablad White to be a kind of ‘hybrid’ snus, as Skruf claims that it is designed to have a taste that lies somewhere between traditional and flavored snus. Furthermore, Skruf states that the flavoring in Myntablad White is added during the first step of the manufacturing process (unlike most brands which add in flavorings later on). Skruf Slim Myntablad White comes with 24 0.7 gram regular strength portions for a total of 16.8 grams of snus per can.
Once I opened my can, I took a moment to study the aroma and noticed a mint aroma with floral hints in the background. Soon after putting in a portion, I began to notice a mild mint taste which had hints of sweetness in it. After about ten minutes, I soon began to notice an herbal tobacco taste which began to overpower the mint around the twenty minute mark. Although the mint tasted quite natural, but I found it was rather weak. Although I don’t find Myntablad a bad snus, it doesn’t really stand out compared to other mint snuses on the market.
The portions are fairly soft and are the same used in the rest of Skruf’s Slim brands. Generally it took a few minutes for the nicotine kick to take hold, but when it did it was smooth and pleasant. As a white portion snus, I found that Myntablad produced little drip, and I generally kept portions in for nearly an hour and a half before removing them due to a decline in flavor.
Overall, I can’t say I enjoyed Myntablad as much as I did Ralakrits. The mint flavor is quite mild and fairly uninteresting, and I didn’t find that the overall taste is anything special. However, it may be worth trying out if you enjoy milder tasting mint brands with hints of Skruf’s characteristic tobacco flavor in the background.
