A little while back, I reviewed General Green Harvest, and found myself wishing that more snus manufacturers would offer a range of organic snus products (especially now since Green Harvest has been discontinued). I guess my wish was granted, because just a few weeks ago Skruf Snus AB launched Skruf Selection, A white portioned variety of Skruf manufactured with only the finest selection of organically grown tobaccos. Apparently two tobaccos were blended together in the making of Selection.
Upon opening my can of Skruf Selection, the first thing I noticed was how closely the smell resembled Skruf original white. A strong tobacco aroma, with hints of rose oil and bergamot. Once I placed a portion into my mouth, I was greeted with a tobacco taste which was complimented by the bergamot. The rose oil began to become detectable after about the five minute mark, and it made for an interesting combination. The flavor became strongest for me at the fifteen minute mark, and it lasted for nearly an hour before losing flavor. The tobacco taste was very smooth, and I didn’t find the snus to be overly salty, which was a good thing.
The portions were quite dry, and they held a good amount of tobacco. The material used to make them was the same as most other offerings from Skruf. I’m not a huge fan of the portions, as they are slightly rough and aren’t nearly as soft as other brands out there. Each portion contained about 7mg of nicotine, making it of average strength. However, since the portions are quite dry, it took about ten minutes before I began to notice a nicotine buzz.
Overall, I enjoyed Skruf Selection quite a lot. I’m a big fan of Skruf Original, so being able to purchase a similar tasting yet all natural snus was definitely a plus in my book. I also liked the look of the can, and the green white and brown colors used in the logo remind me that its organic. I really hope Skruf continues to offer this snus longer than General Green Harvest was available, since I plan to put this into my daily rotation!
