Produced by Chicksnus (the makers of Chick Polar Menthol), Royal Snus White Dry is part of a relatively new series of snus and has a classic taste of tobacco and citrus. Each can of Royal White Dry Portion comes with 9.75 grams of average strength snus per can.
After opening my can, I soon began to notice a tobacco dominant aroma, and this was complimented by hints of bergamot, which was present during the first fifteen minutes that I kept a portion in. Around the ten minute mark I began to notice a peppery taste which slowly overtook the bergamot and created an interesting taste in combination with the salty tobacco. The tobacco taste is fairly mild, and I generally kept portions in for nearly an hour before removing them due to drip. As a whole, I found that the flavor reminds me of a mix of General and Offroad Gold, except Royal is a little milder in terms of taste.
The Royal White portions are dry, and they use standard portion material which fits comfortably in my lip. The portions are also average strength and contain about 8mg of nicotine per gram of snus. Since the portions were fairly dry, it took about four minutes before I started to notice a pleasant buzz set in and it lasted for about twenty minutes before tapering off.
Overall, Royal White Dry Portion is an average tasting citrus and tobacco dominant snus, and it works well for those who enjoy mild tobacco dominant brands. Although I find it to be fairly tasty in its own right, my only real complaint is that there’s only 9.75 grams of snus per can which I find to be a little on the light side. I recommend trying Royal White Dry if you’re a fan of General but are looking to try something similar to mix things up a bit! I find that thanks to its dryness and balanced taste, Royal White Dry tends to go well with most styles of beer and also makes for a great daily rotation snus!
