Part of Danish snus manufacturer V2 Tobacco’s Offroad series of snus, Offroad Silver White Portion is a regular portion snus with a classic taste of tobacco. Cans of Offroad Silver come with 16 grams of average strength snus. I’m a fan of other members of the Offroad lineup (especially Lakrits and Wintergreen), so I was eager to give Silver White a try!
After I opened my can of Offroad Silver White, I soon noticed an aroma of mellow herbal tobacco and that was about it (which is to be expected for a pure tobacco flavored snus!). After placing a portion in my mouth, I soon began to taste a mild notes of grassy tobacco , complimented by a dash of salt. Although the taste wasn’t as rich as more premium brands, I was surprised at how it developed over time, starting out quite mellow and then becoming increasingly bitter with hints of pepper near the fifty minute mark (I removed my portions after an hour).
The portions were made of average quality and were quite dry. As a result, I experienced little drip and it took about five minutes for a mild nicotine buzz to set in, and it lasted for twenty minutes before subsiding. Also make sure to keep in mind that each portion contains 0.9 grams of snus, and there are fewer portions per can than most brands (16 grams per can vs the usual 21.6 or 24), so make sure to keep this in mind while deciding how many cans you should order!
Overall, Offroad Silver White is a surprisingly good tobacco flavored snus, and its great to use as your daily snus if you’re on a budget. Silver White’s mellow taste goes well with most beers or a nice espresso for that Monday morning pick me up!
