Produced by the GN Tobacco company of Sweden, Oden’s Extreme White is one of the strongest brands of snus on the market with 22mg of nicotine per portion (regular snus contains 8mg per portion on average!). As someone who mainly uses regular and strong brands (but very rarely extra strong), I was curious to see how much of a buzz I would get from the snus.
Upon opening my can of Extreme White 69, I noticed a strong smell of tobacco, with hints of bergamot. Once I placed a portion in my mouth, I began to notice a strong tobacco taste develop, which caused my lip to tingle due to the high nicotine content. After a few minutes, I began to notice a complimentary bergamot flavor, and it was quite nice. The taste was pretty unique to Oden’s, and reminded me of regular Oden’s 69, just drier.
Each portion contained 0.7 grams of snus, and they fit comfortably in my mouth. I did need to moisten them a bit with my tongue beforehand though due to how dry they were (each portion contains only 25% moisture, making them about as dry as the Northerner Citrus & Menthol brand). However, the dryness didn’t really offset the strength of the snus for me, and within 5 minutes my head was spinning quite a bit. After less than 10 minutes, I usually had to remove the portions because they were so strong! Because of the low moisture content, expect to experience very little drip while using this snus.
I recommend Oden’s Extreme White 69 Dry to those who are looking for a fast and strong nicotine kick similar to what you experience with cigarettes (making it a good brand for those looking to quit). If you’re new to snus, be careful with this brand as it can cause nausea quick if you aren’t used to such high levels of nicotine. I also found that the can design is quite nice, and I much prefer the new kind to the old “hockey puck” style of can previously used by the Odens line. There is also a compartment for for used snus which is quite a handy thing to have in situations where you don’t have access to a garbage can.
