Produced by GN Tobacco of Sweden, Oden’s Extreme 29 is an extra strong snus brand with tobacco dominant taste complimented by a hint of apple. As a fan of both flavors I was excited to give my can a try, and each can of Extreme 29 contains 18 grams of extra strength snus with a whopping 22mg of nicotine per portion!
After opening my can, I noticed the characteristic smell of Oden’s tobacco (its slightly smoky and very flavorful!), which was complimented by only a tiny hint of apple (I had a hard time detecting it). Once I placed a portion in my mouth, I soon began to taste smokey tobacco as well as some salt. The apple flavor was there, but only slightly and it was in the background until it began to fade after the ten minute mark (If you’re looking for a strong apple snus, I suggest trying out Thunder ES Apple instead). I enjoyed the tobacco taste a lot, as it manages to take the original Oden’s Extreme taste and adds in some of its own unique flavor.
The portion material was the standard kind used for the rest of the Oden’s lineup, and all the portions came tightly sealed and none of them were leaking. The portions were only moderately moist, but I did notice a large nicotine buzz set in within only a few minutes. With 22mg of nicotine, the Oden’s Extreme line has some of the highest nicotine contents of any snus brand (regular portions have 8mg), so make sure that you’re an experienced snuser if you give them a try! I experienced some drip around the thirty minute mark, and it tasted like salt and earthy tobacco.
Overall, I enjoyed Oden’s extreme 29, but as a tobacco flavored snus rather than for its apple taste (or lack of one). However, as a fan of tobacco dominant snus brands I found that Extreme 29 puts a new twist on the original Oden’s Extreme. If you’re a fan of stronger tobacco dominant snus brands, then I definitely recommend trying out Extreme 29. I found that 29 pairs well with strong coffee as well as darker liquors such as Bourbon, Canadian Rye, and Whiskey.
