Released just this year, the Nord 66 line of snus was developed by Skruf as an alternative to their traditional offerings. Nord 66 Strong White has 22 grams of snus per can, and each portion has 12-14mg of nicotine. As a fan of tobacco flavored snus brands, I was excited to give Nord 66 Strong White a try.
Upon opening my can, I noticed an aroma of earthy tobacco, citrus, and peppery undertones that I found to be very pleasant, and unlike other members of the Skruf line there was no rose oil present. Upon placing a portion in my mouth, I noticed an interesting earthy taste from the tobacco, which was complimented by subtle hints of citrus (possibly lemon?) and a peppery taste to round everything out. The taste reminded me quite a bit of of General Onyx (I brand I love), but with a more earthen tobacco taste which becomes milder as time progresses (as opposed to most tobacco flavored snuses which begin to develop a bitter taste). Unlike other members of the Skruf line, there was no rose oil present.
The portion material was of average quality, but they were filled fairly full and gave me a good amount of flavor when I had them in. Where Nord 66 stands out however, is drip. Even after keeping a portion in for about an hour, I noticed very little drip which was quite mild. The nicotine hit was a bit slow to come on (since this is a dry portion snus), but after about five minutes I began to experience a strong and long lasting buzz.
Overall, Skruf Nord 66 Strong White is a very tasty snus, and I have to say that I’m impressed. The earthy tobacco tastes blends well with the other flavors and makes Strong White a great snus to use in a number of situations including drinking coffee or enjoying a strong beer. I can definitely see myself adding Strong White to my daily rotation!
