Now produced by Swedish Match, Ettan Snus has the distinction of being one of Sweden’s oldest brands. Developed by snus pioneer Jacob Fredrik Ljunglöf in 1822, Ettan has proved to be one of the most popular brands of snus on the market today and is well known for its great taste and superb quality. Each portion of Ettan contains .9 grams of tobacco with a nicotine content of 8mg. Ettan Vit has 24 portions per can.
Upon opening my can of Vit, I initially noticed an aroma of mild smokey tobacco as well as subtle hints of chocolate. Once I placed a portion in my mouth, I soon detected a tobacco dominant taste which was complimented by the subtle hints of smoke and chocolate. None of the flavors were too strong, and because of this I found that Vit tended to go well with a number of different beverages, especially stouts, coffee, and tea. After about ten minutes the flavor began to transition to a salty tobacco taste which I enjoyed until about the fifty minute mark (which is when the flavor became too salty for my tastes).
The portions are made with average material, and they come pre-arranged in Swedish Match’s star formation and fit comfortably in my mouth. Being a white portioned snus, Ettan Vit is fairly dry but not overly so. I began to experience a mild nicotine buzz around the five minute mark, and it lasted for around twenty minutes before tapering off. I was able to keep portions in for around fifty minutes before I began to experience excessive drip.
Overall, I enjoyed Ettan Vit a lot. The hints of chocolate and smoke created a very interesting taste experience while still maintaining a tobacco dominant taste. I recommend trying Ettan Vit at least once during your snusing career, you won’t regret it!
