Launched just this year by Skruf Snus AB, Black Line by Skruf is a new product line developed by Team X at Skruf, a Team who had “an idea of moving away from rules, senior managers and their daily routine, in order to create a unique snus experience.” An underground movement, the group “decided to come together during secret meetings, at hidden places” in order to create “a rebellious touch with a different mindset to create an alternative of what they thought real craftsmanship is all about”. Every can of Black Line Slim White comes with 24 snus portions, each with .7 grams of tobacco per portion for a total of 16.8g per can. I’m a huge fan of several Skruf products including Skruf Slim and Skruf Cranberry, and so I was very excited to give Black Line Slim White a try once I had a can arrive in the mail!
Soon after opening my can, I was greeted with a mellow tobacco aroma, paired with rose oil (which was my favorite thing about Skruf Original when I first tried it early on in my snus career!). After putting in a portion, I soon began to taste a mellow tobacco flavor with hints of rose oil in the background. As a fan of tobacco dominant snus brands, I found the tobacco flavor to be quite mild at the start, but it became increasingly stronger the longer I kept portions in. I also detected hints of woodiness as time passed, and the tobacco flavor was quite complex and very enjoyable.
The portions were long and slim, fitting comfortably in my mouth without any issues. They were quite dry, and as a result it took a few minutes before the flavor and nicotine buzz to start developing. Four minutes after putting in a portion, I was greeted with the onset of a strong and pleasant nicotine buzz which gradually came on. The buzz was strong and satisfying, and I found that it lasted quite some time before subsiding. As a result of the dryness, I was generally able to keep portions in for over an hour before removing them due to a decline in flavor.
As a whole, I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed Slim White, and the new Black Line is definitely a brand I can see myself exploring more (and even adding to my daily rotation!). As I find stronger snuses tend to relax me (whereas milder ones stimulate), I’ve been finding myself enjoying Black Line Slim White as a nightcap before bed. Moreover, the exquisite tobacco taste combined with hints of rose oil makes things especially inviting! If you’re a fan of Skruf or of tobacco dominant snus brands in general, I highly recommend giving Black Line a try!
