Manufactured by TillCE/Northerner, Al Capone Citrus is a mini portion purified snus which contains 6mg of nicotine per gram of snus.
As soon as I opened my can of Al Capone Citrus, I noticed a slight tobacco aroma, as well as a fresh citrus scent. I enjoyed the aroma, although I did find it to be a tad weak. After about five minutes of having a portion in, I began to notice a tart lemon taste, which reminded me a bit of lemon drop candies. I really enjoyed the taste, and it reminded me a of Northerner Citrus & Menthol except without the menthol taste. The downside of Al Capone snus however was that I found the flavor to be a little too weak. After the initial lemon taste subsided, I was left with a very mild yet fresh tobacco taste. I was only really able to taste citrus for about fifteen minutes before I could only taste hints of tobacco and salt.
The portions are small and quite comfortable. They remind me quite a bit of the Northerner portions that I’ve reviewed in the past, and they are very discreet. After about ten minutes of having a portion of Al Capone in, I began to experience a very mild nicotine buzz, but it made for a very pleasant afternoon. Due to their dryness, I found that I was able to keep my portion in for forty five minutes.
Overall, Al Capone Citrus is a great snus for those who are looking for a very dry portion snus with a nice citrus flavor. Due to the dryness of the portions, I find that Al Capone pairs extremely well with a good wheat beer, or a nice white wine. However, if you’re someone who enjoys strong snus, then the mild and smooth taste of Al Capone Citrus snus may not be for you. Although I enjoyed my can, I don’t think I will be putting Al Capone Citrus in my daily rotation.
