Review Preface: I am not a dip user. I am a long-term Swedish Snus user. Please take this into consideration when reading my review!
Today, we’re going to be talking about Longhorn Wintergreen Chill Long Cut, a product by Pinkerton Tobacco, which is owned by Swedish Match. I mostly review snus but have had some request for dip reviews, so I figured I would go with Pinkerton products, as I’ve been a Swedish Match fan for many years and I know they ensure quality.
The taste is described as having “a taste of wintergreen“. This dip comes with a can weight of 34.02 grams! I’m not sure of the nicotine content, but looking around online I was able to find it listed as 13.8 mg/g total nicotine, and 5.7 mg/g free (usable) nicotine. So, the strength is most likely between regular and strong, when looking at it on paper.
I’m not too experienced with long cut dip, however I have used long cut snus. The aroma of this product is really interesting. It’s a mild, slightly sweet smell of mint with a gentle aroma of wintergreen. I don’t dig wintergreen, but I did find this to have a pretty nice aroma to it! I took a pinch and put it in my upper lip (remember, I’m a snuser), and found the tobacco to be soft, comfortable, and moist. The flavor is very interesting; I’ve never tasted a product like this. There is a pretty even pairing of wintergreen and mint – the mint flavor is mild, lightly sweet, and pairs well with the gentle wintergreen presence! The nicotine strength feels pretty moderate; I used about a 1 gram pinch and found it to be comparable to regular strength Swedish Snus. The flavor lasts a pretty good amount of time as well! On average, I was able to keep this in for about 30-35 minutes.
If you like the wintergreen flavor and want to try something a little different, Longhorn Wintergreen Chill Long Cut is definitely a nice option to try! I don’t like wintergreen, but I did find the flavor of this one to be quite enjoyable!
