Review Preface: I am not a dip user. I am a long-term Swedish Snus user. Please take this into consideration when reading my review!
Today, we’re going to be talking about Kodiak Wintergreen Long Cut, a product by American Snuff Co! This product comes in a 34.02 gram can and while I’m not sure what the nicotine strength is I’ve seen it listed anywhere between 10.7mg/g and 10.9mg/g. The flavor description is listed as “smooth, mellow tobacco flavor with a hint of spice and sweetness. This is a loose cut product that consists of small strands of tobacco.”
When you open the can, the aroma that greets you is a present, lightly sweet smell of wintergreen. There seems to be a light, earthy tobacco presence in the background, as well. The tobacco itself is long cut, and is moist and quite soft to the touch! The flavor is very much that American wintergreen dip flavor. If you like wintergreen, this would be right up your alley. The flavor is quite bold, but also quite long lasting; it doesn’t fade away too quickly. The wintergreen flavor is the heavy hitter in this one, but you can also taste the tobacco. It’s one thing I notice more with dip than snus. The tobacco flavor is mild, earthy, and stays relatively in the background. There’s also a mild wood hint to it which reminds me a lot of oak. When I throw in a gram or two in the lip the nicotine strength feels to be about the regular level, and I find it stays parked pretty well in the lip for 30-45 minutes with a long lasting flavor to go with it.
If you like the taste of American wintergreen moist snuff products, Kodiak Wintergreen Long Cut is one to check out!
