Produced by the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company, Skoal Apple is a long cut style dipping tobacco with a green apple taste. The Skoal brand is one of the most popular brands of dip on the market, and I have previously enjoyed other varieties of Skoal including Straight and Xtra Crisp so I had high hopes for Apple, especially since I’m a fan of Granny Smith apples.
With my can opened, I noticed a strong aroma of green apple with undertones of classic skoal tobacco. With a nice sized lip in, I tasted a sweet apple taste, and it was complimented by a little bit of salty tobacco flavor. The juice was quite good tasting, and I found it to be a nice combination of sweet and salty. The apple flavor lasted for around thirty minutes before it became increasingly salty.
Because its a long cut, Skoal Apple stayed in place well, and I was easily able to remove lips afterwards. After a few minutes I began to feel a nice nicotine buzz, but not as strong as other brands out there like Copenhagen Southern Blend. Most of the time, I kept lips in for around half an hour before I felt that the dip was finished.
As a whole, I found Skoal Apple Long Cut to be very tasty, and I finished my can quite quickly after I opened it. If you enjoy the taste of crisp apples, I recommend giving Skoal Apple a shot!
