After having just reviewed Kayak Peach Dip and enjoying it, I decided to follow up with another flavor in the Kayak dipping tobacco lineup, Kayak Grape. Manufactured by Swisher, Kayak is a budget brand dip that comes in several flavors. Similar to Peach, Grape is a long cut dip, making it easy to put in a dip and keep it in place.
Opening opening my can of Kayak Grape, I immediately noticed an aroma of grape. However, the aroma was more artificial than the peach, and the smell reminded me of grape flavored cough medicine (especially the grape chewable tablets). Much as with Kayak Peach, I was unable to detect and tobacco aromas. Upon placing a fairly large sized dip in, I soon noticed a grape taste, which again reminded me of chewable grape tablets. The flavor remained strong for about a half hour, and after that it became progressively weaker as time passed. As with Peach, I tasted very little salt or tobacco, just a grape flavor.
Kayak Grape is a long cut dip, and the tobacco was very easy to keep in place. It produced a moderate amount of spit, and I was able to keep my dip in place for nearly an hour before I took it out due to it becoming increasingly moist. Kayak has a moderate-low nicotine content, so in order to get a buzz you may need a fair sized dip depending on your level of nicotine tolerance.
Overall, I didn’t enjoy Kayak Grape as much as I did the peach variety, and I don’t plan to order any more. However, if you’re a lover of grape flavored dips than it may be worth giving this a shot. I also recommend it to new dippers as the nicotine content is lower than other brands out there. The price is also quite low, which makes the Kayak line enticing for those on a budget.
