Today we’re going to be talking about two snus products for the American market: Camel Frost (Regular) and Camel Frost (Large)! Camel Frost is one of the original flavors of Camel Snus sold in the US, with the large version being released a few years later. Camel Snus Regular comes with 15 pouches per can, which are around 0.6 grams each. Camel Frost Large has 15 pouches per can but they weigh 1.0 grams each. I’m not sure what the nicotine content is exactly, but I’ve seen it listed online as anywhere between 2.5mg/g to 8mg/g. So, we’ll just call it “regular strength”. The flavor description for these two products says, “Camel Large Frost Snus has a refreshing flavor of spearmint. This snus has a larger pouch.”
One thing you’ll notice about Camel Snus is that it comes in more of an oblong can – a big difference from the round cans we see with Swedish Snus or American moist snuff. Both of these products are the same in terms of aroma; they both have a sweet smell of spearmint. The regular size portions are super slim, whereas the large size portions are a little thicker, but still slim fit in the lip. Being mint products, both of these have a refreshing cooling presence when you put a portion under your lip. The taste of both of these is a sweet, fresh taste of spearmint. The flavor for both of these, on average, seems to last about 30 minutes. As far as the nicotine level of the regular size one, it isn’t too strong; it feels to be about as strong as a mini portion snus. The large size version feels a little stronger than that one.
