If you’re not familiar with chew bags, these are products that are similar to snus, but contain cut tobacco and thicker portion material. They’re meant to be chewed, but I usually don’t – I just use them like regular snus.
The flavor description for this one says, “Al Capone Original X-TRA has a classic tobacco flavor rounded with hints of bergamot.” Each can has 24 portions, and a nicotine content of 18mg/g.
If you’ve ever had Phantom Snus before, this one reminds me a lot of that, particularly the original portion version. The aroma is a mild citrus smell, with a little earthy tobacco presence. The portions are plump, and pretty moist. They feel comfortable in the lip and have a pretty quick flavor release. The taste, again, reminds me of Phantom Snus. It’s a softer tobacco taste, rounded out with elements of citrus, and a light herbal character. The nicotine feels to be between the strong and extra strong level, and the flavor lasts about 40-50 minutes on average.
As far as chew bags go, this one is pretty good. It seems like most of them nowadays are mint, so it’s nice to have a more traditional one. If you’re looking for something with the citrus/tobacco flavor, check out Al Capone X-Tra Chew Bags, they’re rather tasty.
