Produced by the Pinkerton Tobacco Company of Kentucky, USA, Timber Wolf Long Cut Wintergreen is one of two wintergreen offerings in the Timber Wolf line of dip (the other being Wintergreen Fine Cut), and it promises to deliver a tasty dipping experience. Every can of Timber Wolf Long Cut Wintergreen comes with 1.2oz (34.02g) of dipping tobacco.
Not long after opening my can of Long Cut Wintergreen, I soon noticed a powerful aroma of wintergreen along with just a touch of peppermint. Soon after putting in a pinch, I began to notice a dominant wintergreen taste and it wasn’t very sweet compared to other wintergreen dips I’ve had. I like that the wintergreen taste is strong yet not overly sweet as it makes for a refreshing natural mint flavor which tastes fresh after a big cup of coffee in the morning! On average I left pinches in for a little over a half hour, as I found I began to lose the mint flavor around the thirty minute mark.
The grind is average for a long cut, and I had no issues packing a pinch and keeping it my lip for about forty minutes without it moving around too much. The longer strands of tobacco also make it quite easy to remove a pinch without making a mess with just a little practice. One of the things that I really enjoy about Timber Wolf Long Cut Wintergreen is that it seems to have a higher nicotine content than other brands of long cut out there, as I definitely felt a nice strong buzz with a medium sized pinch.
As a whole, I was quite impressed with Timber Wolf Long Cut Wintergreen. It has a great natural tasting wintergreen flavor, and a great nicotine kick to boot! However, if you’re an experienced dipper looking to try something stronger (but with the same great taste!) yet a little more challenging to use, I suggest trying out Timber Wolf Fine Cut!
