As we approach the end of June, several new happenings have been occurring in the snus world, including the relesase of a limited edition of Grovsnus by Motorhead. It has recently come to my attention that there has been a few new developments regarding other snus brands which I intend to cover in this post.
First off, the manufacturers of Gringo Snus have released a second version of their loose snus, which they claim is nearly mudslide-free. The new formula will be differentiated from the old one with the marking “NG” before the batch numbers. Northerner has already begun receiving shipments of the new Gringo, so when you place an order you should be receiving an NG can. I haven’t tried Gringo yet, but I plan to review it in the near future, so keep checking back!
Secondly, snus manufacturer Gotlandssnus has announced a new limited edition snus brand known as Gotland’s Smultron Sommar Snus (Wild Strawberry). As the name implies, this snus should have a slightly sweet taste reminiscent of a form of wild strawberries from Sweden known as a Smultron. I’m a big fan of fruit flavored snuses such as Jakobsson’s Flader and Jakobsson’s Melon, so I’m excited to give this one a try when it becomes released. Expect a release date close the middle of summer (most likely sometime during July).
Finally, according to the snus blogger Chad Jones of Snubie, a new form of Skruf has been appearing, known as Skruf Slim Stark Select Portion (that’s a lot of s’!). Apparently each can comes with 12 full size regular strength slim portions, similar to that of Skruf Slim. The flavor is supposedly quite sweet, and the snus smells like licorice. As a fan of various offerings from Skruf, I’m curious to give this one a try.
