Produced by AG Snus, Kapten Original is a regular portion snus brand with 18 grams of regular strength snus per can. Being someone who enjoys tobacco dominant snus brands, I was curious to give it a Kapten Vit a go, especially since I reviewed Kapten Original earlier this month.
Once I opened my can of Kapten Vit, I took in the aromas and soon detected a tobacco odor with floral undertones and a hint of bergamot. The aroma was very similar to Kapten Original, only more subdued. Kapten Vit started off with a slightly sweet herbal flavor which developed after five minutes and lasted for about fifteen. It then began to develop into a very mild tobacco flavor as time went on. I noticed very little salt present, and even after the one hour mark I didn’t experience any bitter tasting drip (although I could hardly taste the tobacco at this point). One thing I really enjoyed was that Kapten Vit produced very little drip. Even after the one hour mark there was hardly any drip present, so it was great to use while also sipping on a beverage.
The portions are quite dry, and as a result the nicotine hit was a little slower to come on than regular snus. It took about five minutes for me to start feeling a bit of a buzz and it was pretty nice. The buzz lasted for about thirty minutes before starting to fade. Because the portions were quite dry, I did experience less drip than the original Kapten. In fact, I was only getting a little bit of drip when I took my portion out after the one hour mark.
Overall, I enjoyed Kapten Vit as a mild tobacco dominant brand, and its a great alternative to Kapten Original if you’re looking for a drier variant. I also enjoyed how little drip Kapten Vit produced, and the lack of a very salty taste ensured that it didn’t become bitter as time went on. Like the Original, Kapten Vit goes especially well with tea and also compliments the various types of beer.
