Manufactured by Fiedler & Lundgren (the makers of Lucky Strike Snus), Granit Intensive Extra Strong is a dry snus with a kick. As a fan of the taste of regular Granit Snus, I was looking forward to trying out a stronger variety.
The aroma of Granit Intensive ES reminds me quite a bit of the now discontinued General Green Harvest; a strong smell of tobacco and blended herbs, complimented by herbal grasses. Upon placing a portion in my mouth, I was greeted with a mixture of tobacco and wheatgrass. The snus was fairly salty, but it did work to give the tobacco an interesting taste. The flavor remained strong until the hour mark, and even then I could still taste a bit of tobacco (the grassy taste wore off after about a half hour).
Granit Intensive ES uses standard portion material, and since it is a very dry snus it has a slow nicotine onset. However, after about ten minutes I was greeted with a strong buzz which lasted for about fifty minutes. Since I prefer using strong dry portions over their original counterparts, the buzz was smooth to come on and didn’t leave my head spinning like Thunder or a similar brand would. I experienced very little drip with Granit VIt ES, but my portion did taste a little bitter near the end.
Overall, I really Enjoyed Granit Intensive Extra Strong. The floral taste helped to compliment the tobacco flavor, and Granit Vit ES makes for a great snus to have in your daily rotation. It pairs exceptionally well with a nice cup of tea, but I also enjoy it while drinking IPA style beer since it compliments the floral undertones of the beer.
