Manufactured by Gotlandssnus, Julesnus is a special treat available only during the holiday season. Julesnus is an average strength portion snus, and every can contains 20 grams of snus. Gotlandssnus describes Julesnus as having a flavor of “mulled wine, cinnamon and gingerbread cookies gives the Julesnus a taste of Christmas.” The Julesnus can is also nicely decorated with a Christmas motif.
Upon opening my can of Julesnus, the first thing that I noticed was the aroma. It reminded me of the smell of fortified wine, but with extra hints of spice (cinnamon, ginger) mixed in. Upon placing a portion in mouth, I immediately detected a taste of tobacco and cinnamon. After about five minutes, the flavor began to develop more, and I began to detect hints of ginger as well as cloves. I found that the spicy flavor helped to compliment the tobacco, and the spices were remained detecatable for quite some time. After about 10 minutes, I began to taste a little bit of wine, and it had a flavor similar to vermouth. The flavor stayed strong for about fourty minutes, and afterwards it began to diminish and the snus became increasingly salty.
The portions were of average quality, and the material used resembled other offerings from Gotlandssnus. I was able to keep portions in for about an hour before I began to experience drip. The nicotine buzz to about 5 minutes to start, and when it did it was relatively mild in comparison to some other regular strength brands.
Overall, Gotland’s Julesnus is a great snus for mixing things up every now and then during the holiday season. Julesnus has a spicy tobacco taste with a bit of herbal undertones, and I found the taste to be unique and distinct. I definitely plan to stock up on Julesnus before it becomes unavailable!
