Produced by Swisher International, Silver Creek Cherry is a lesser known dip which has a strong cherry flavor. Although my favorite dips generally tend to have tobacco dominant flavors, I usually enjoy throwing in a lip of fruit flavored dip every now and then to mix things up a little, and since I haven’t heard much about the Silver Creek brand, I was excited to give it a try and see how it stacks up compared to Skoal Long Cut Cherry. Every can of Silver Creek Cherry comes with 1.2 oz of long cut dip made from 100% domestically (U.S) grown tobaccos.
Soon after opening my can of Silver Creek Cherry, I was greeted with a strong aroma of sweet cherries and it smelled quite good. In addition, unlike Skoal Cherry, I detected slight hints of tobacco in the background, but the cherry flavor was definitely in the foreground. Soon after putting a pinch in, I began to notice a strong, sweet cherry taste and just a tad of smoky tobacco in the background. I found the cherry to be fairly natural tasting, except a little bit on the sweet side which wasn’t a bad thing. Over time the cherry flavor slowly subsided, and the smoky tobacco became stronger but never overbearing.
As a long cut, Silver Creek Cherry is easy to form pinches of, and it holds together quite well in my lower lip. The nicotine strength was average, and a medium sized pinch felt quite satisfying. I didn’t have too much trouble removing pinches, but I did find myself needing some water just to make sure I had everything removed. Moreover, due to the flavor I found that the juices flowed quite well with this one, and I generally kept lips packed for around thirty five minutes before removing them due to a decline in flavor.
Overall, I must say that I’m pretty impressed with Silver Creek Cherry. Prior to this review, I hadn’t heard of the Silver Creek brand and wasn’t expecting much from my can, but once I tried it I quickly found myself coming back for more. Although I find the cherry flavor a bit strong to use as my all day dip, I can definitely see myself keeping cans around to mix things up every now and then during the day. If you’re a fan of fruit flavored dips and are looking to try something new, I definitely recommend trying Silver Creek Cherry out!
