After taking a few considerations from the folks over in the Reddit Tobacco subsection, I’ve decided to review another brand of dip, Grizzly 1900.
Once I placed a medium sized dip in, I tasted a sweet tobacco taste, with salty undertones, much like a straight cut. I didn’t find the nicotine buzz of Grizzly 1900 to be as strong as some other brands such as Copenhagen; instead it was more on par with Skoal. The Grizzly didn’t make me spit very much, and as a result, I could keep a dip in for about fourty five minutes (I began to lose flavor at the 35 minute mark). Once the sweetness wore off, I noticed that the flavored transitioned more and more to a salty tobacco taste which eventually became too salty for my tastes.
One thing that I noticed about this dip was that although it states Long Cut on the can, I feel that it resembles more a medium cut and is definitely not as long as Copehagen Straight Long Cut. Although this may not be a problem for some, others may find the finer cut more difficult to pack than other long cuts.
Overall, Grizzly 1900 is a nice dip who for someone who is looking to shake up their routine a little bit, as well as for new dippers who are looking for a mild buzz. Jut remember -Its finer than standard long cut, so make sure to keep that in mind if you’re a long cut guy!
